Ad Value

AVE means Advertising Value Equivalency (sometimes called Ad Value Equivalency ), AVE metrics are used to estimate the ‘ad value’ of a broadcast clip by benchmarking it against the cost of buying comparable advertising on the same channel/time slot.

AVE Metrics:

  • Reach: the estimated audience reached by that clip or mention. In TV/radio this is usually based on audience measurement data for the station, program, or time slot, not on actual confirmed viewers/listeners of that exact mention.

  • Ad Value: The ad rate, For broadcast, this is often an estimated cost for a standard spot, commonly a 30-second TV/radio ad rate.
