How to Create a Monitor

To create a new monitor, follow these steps:

1. Accessing Monitors

  • From the Social Listening product, select Monitors, then click + New Monitor.

2. Select the Monitor Type

Choose the type of monitor that fits your needs from the following options:

  • Managed Accounts: To monitor and analyze the performance of accounts you manage.

  • Public Accounts: To track specific accounts, regardless of location or keywords.

  • Keywords: To monitor all content related to selected keywords, regardless of its source.

Then, click Next.


3. Setting Up the Monitor

a. Managed Accounts Monitor

  1. Enter the following information:

    • Monitor Name: Provide a name that reflects the monitor’s purpose.

    • Description (Optional): Add a brief explanation of the monitor’s goal.

  2. Add the data source and the associated account from these options:

    • Facebook

    • Instagram

  3. Once all details are entered, click Create Monitor.

b. Public Accounts Monitor

  1. Enter the following information:

    • Monitor Name: Provide a name that reflects the monitor’s purpose.

    • Description (Optional): Add a brief summary.

  2. Add the data source and the associated account, such as:

    • X Platform, Facebook, Instagram.

  3. If you select X Platform, configure additional settings:

    • Keywords: The terms you want to monitor.

    • Excluded Keywords: The terms you want to ignore.

    • Include Posts from Specific Accounts: Specify accounts to include.

    • Exclude Posts from Specific Accounts: Specify accounts to exclude.

    • Set Countries and Languages to monitor content based on location and language.

    • Activate options like:

      • Exclude Retweets and Quotes.

      • Display Posts from Verified Users Only.

  4. Once settings are complete, click Create Monitor.

c. Keyword Monitor

  1. Enter the following information:

    • Monitor Name: Provide a name that reflects the monitor’s purpose.

    • Description (Optional): Add a short description.

  2. Choose the data source, then enter the keywords:

    • Sources: X Platform, Facebook, Instagram, News and Blogs.

    • For News and Blogs, add keywords, excluded keywords, and titles for content collection.

  3. Add specific filters (countries and languages).

    • (Note: Adding filters may reduce the number of results.)

  4. Optionally, configure topics if necessary.

  5. After completing the setup, click Create Monitor.
