Alerts for spikes and reputation risks (FAQs)

Want to understand how Lucidya alerts work and how they help your team stay informed? Here are answers to the most common questions.

What are alerts in Lucidya and what is their purpose?

Alerts are real-time notifications that inform users of unusual activity within Social Listening conversations. They automatically detect significant changes in conversation volume, sentiment, and engagement, removing the need to continuously monitor dashboards.

How does Lucidya determine whether activity is unusual?

The platform compares recent activity — such as the last hour — against baseline averages drawn from historical data, such as the previous 24 hours or 7 days. When activity crosses defined thresholds, an alert is automatically generated.

What alert types are available in Lucidya?

The platform supports seven alert types: Trending Alert, Negative Posts Alert, New Post Alert, Influencer Alert, Verified User Alert, High Volume Reach Alert, and Viral Alert. Each targets a different activity pattern to provide broader coverage of monitored conversations.

How do alerts help with reputation risk management?

The Negative Posts Alert monitors spikes in negative content, giving teams an early warning of sentiment shifts that may pose a risk to brand reputation. Responding quickly to these alerts helps contain potential crises before they escalate.

When are alerts most useful?

Alerts are most valuable when used to monitor key signals and respond immediately to changes — such as investigating sudden spikes in conversation activity, tracking viral content, and addressing emerging reputation risks in a timely manner.
