Social Listening monitors

Listening monitors are the foundation of Social Listening and represent the first step in capturing and structuring online conversations. They continuously collect data from a wide range of sources, including social media platforms, news sites, blogs, and other digital channels.

By configuring monitors, organizations can define exactly what they want to track, from brand mentions and campaigns to competitors and industry trends. This allows them to move beyond raw, unstructured data and build a reliable stream of insights aligned with their business objectives. The data collected by monitors powers all downstream analysis, including dashboards, filters, and reporting.

Types of Listening Monitors

Lucidya provides three types of monitors, each designed to capture data differently depending on the source and use case.

Managed account monitors

Managed account monitors track social media accounts owned and operated by your organization. These accounts are connected through authentication, enabling direct access to account activity and interactions. This type of monitor is essential for understanding brand performance, measuring engagement, and gaining customer care insights from conversations happening on your official channels.

Public account monitors

Public account monitors allow you to track accounts that are not owned by your organization. By specifying a public handle or username, the platform collects publicly available content and interactions related to that account. These monitors are typically used for competitor benchmarking, influencer tracking, and monitoring key voices within your industry.

Keyword monitors

Keyword monitors capture conversations based on defined keywords or search queries. Rather than focusing on a single account, they collect relevant content across multiple sources, including social media, news sites, and blogs. This makes them particularly valuable for brand monitoring, campaign tracking, crisis detection, and identifying emerging trends or topics at scale.
