Profiles overview (FAQs)

Want to understand what Profiles is and how it works within the Lucidya ecosystem? Here are answers to the most common questions.

What is Profiles and what is its role in Lucidya?

Profiles is Lucidya's Customer Data Platform. It centralizes customer information into a single structured profile for each individual and serves as the data foundation that supports segmentation, analysis, and customer management across the Lucidya ecosystem.

What information does a customer profile contain?

A profile includes identity data such as email, phone number, and linked social media accounts, as well as demographic attributes and classifications such as themes, sentiment, and segments, and interaction data captured from Managed Channels and Surveys.

How are customer profiles created?

Profiles are created automatically when customers interact through Managed Channels or complete surveys. They can also be created by importing existing customer records or receiving data from external systems through APIs.

How does Lucidya prevent duplicate profiles?

When new data is added, identifiers such as email address and phone number are evaluated to check for an existing matching profile. Matching data is linked to the existing profile, while new profiles are only created when no match is found, keeping customer records unified without duplication.

How do Profiles support the rest of Lucidya's products?

Profiles serve as the shared data foundation across the platform, enabling consistent access to customer information across related products and workflows. They support segmentation, analysis, and engagement workflows without data duplication or inconsistency.
